Lady Margaret's Park CC site

The site, which is top of the range, is screened from the road at the entrance to
Chirk Castle (NT) It's in about 8 acres and has 105 pitches.
About 1/3 of the pitches
are in 2 tree lined cul-
The centrally situated shower block is typical CC design and standard, spotlessly clean and centrally heated. There are washing up sinks, laundry, facilities for the disabled and mother and toddlers room.
TV reception was fair, the best reception coming from directional aerials rather than the modern day status aerial.
This site was a credit to the wardens. The grounds and toilets were absolutely immaculate, and this was at the end of the season.
The site is home to several grey squirrels and dozens of rabbits. There are several walks leading from the site and a leaflet from the wardens will give you details. Try the one along the canal towpath that goes through a tunnel under the site, don't forget a torch, it's eerie.
For those who like fishing you can use the canal or a nearby river. Both within 5 mins. of the site. A new golf course within 1 mile also welcomes visitors.
The surrounding area is also ideal for cycling and cycle routes start from the site.
There is plenty to do in and around the site or within easy driving distance including the local eateries and watering holes. The site is about equal distance from both Shrewsbury and Chester (visit to the zoo is a must). A short drive will get you into The Vale of Llangollen and 45 mins will get you into the Berwyn mountains and Lake Vyrnwy.
If I'd gone for a fortnight it wouldn't have been long enough. There's so much to
do in the area. You can even do without the car for a few days if you wish as there's
a local railway station in 1/4 mile.
The only blip was the local factory (cant be
seen) which had a rather tantalizing smell. It's Cadburys and the smell is of boiling
chocolate. Yum Yum!
